Hyspan

hySPAN is a type of Laminated Veneer Lumber. LVL’s are strong and predictable and are produced by joining many layers of thin wood together using adhesives. Laminated Veneer Lumber can also be produced by bonding veneer together under pressure and heat. Its strength is of the level of building materials like steel, concrete or solid timber and is mostly used for beams and rafters. LVL is a cost effective and strong building material and delivers a high structural reliability. I-Joist and LVL form a favourite combination of many residential and commercial constructions in roof assemblies and LVL floor because Laminated Veneer Lumber is specifically sized for I-Joists.

hySPAN comes in two complementary ranges, namely hySPAN and hySPAN+ which help deliver both softwood and hardwood solutions. It provides strong and consistent performance and comes in various lengths and thicknesses like 35 mm, 63 mm and 75 mm and section depths ranging from 90mm to 600 mm. hySPAN+ on the other hand is an alternative to F17 hardwood which is used for residential construction. It gives a special performance because of the modifications in design and is available in thicknesses of 35 mm and 45 mm sections depths from 90 mm to 200 mm. hySPAN is popularly used for rafters, beams, floor joints and lintels. hySPAN comes with a cost effective termite protection using hySPAN TERMINATOR and hySPAN+ TERMINATOR. The treatment is done to achieve full termite protection till the core of the beam.

At Demar, both hySPAN and hySPAN+ are available according to the desired sizes. They are categorized according to the length (35 mm to 75 mm) and section depth (90 to 600).
